Clinical presentation: A 39-year-old woman requested a second opinion. She has been known having a nodular goiter since childhood. A dominantly solid nodule in the left lobe has previously been categorized as Bethesda III (atypia of unknown significance). m99Tc scan showed multiple cold nodules in both lobes.

Palpation: Both lobes were nodular on palpation.

Laboratory test: TSH 0.20 mIU/L, FT4 16.7 pM/L.

Lesion in question:

the dominantly solid nodule in the upper-middle part of the left lobe.
