Clinical presentation. A thyroid nodule in a 41-year-old man had been observed for 3 years. Consultation was requested after gradual enlargement. Scintigraphy disclosed a hypofunctioning nodule, thereafter the patient was referred for aspiration cytology.
Palpation. A moderately firm nodule in the right lobe.
Laboratory test: TSH 3.92 mIU/L, aTPO 1 U/mL.
