Clinical presentation: a 74-year-old man was referred for evaluation of thyroid nodule discovered on PET CT scan which was performed because of herpes zoster.

Palpation: a moderately firm nodule in the right lobe.

Laboratory test: TSH 1.68 mIU/L.

Lesion in question:

the largest nodule in the right lobe.
