The only exception can be observed in the post partum period, in the case of post partum thyroiditis. The typical course of a post partum thyroiditis is presented in the images.

Examination on 16th gestational week. The patient was euthyroid.
6 weeks after delivery. The patient had hyperthyroidism
16 months after delivery. The thyroid dysfunction resolved spontaneously, the patient was euthyroid again.
