Follicular carcinoma - Case 8

The lack of a halo sign and perinodular blood flow in the event of a follicular tumor is a relatively rare phenomenon. It has no consequence in the event of the so-called eggshell calcification, which corresponds to a calcified capsule (see the second image-pair). In other situations when we fail to demonstrate the capsule, it may have negative consequences because we can miss the diagnosis of follicular tumor.
