Micro- and normofollicular proliferation is demonstated in the first
row and microfollicular proliferation is demonstrated in the second
row. There is no colloid in the background. The follicular cells
frequently contain small nucleoli. The presence of prominent nucleoli
has relevance in oxyphilic cells where this property increases the
possibility of tumorous origin.
