The two patterns are similar: there is a follicular growth pattern with
mixed micro- and normofollicles, the follicular cells are of even size
except for a few enlarged nuclei. The only significant difference is in
the presence of colloid. There is no colloid in the case of adenoma
while diffuse colloid precipitate is present in the other case.
