Papillary carcinomas - Figure 10. Cytological presentation - multinucleated cells. Multinucleated giant cells are frequently observed in papillary carcinomas, i.e. in more than 50% of cases. Nevertheless, the specificity of this sign is weak. On the other hand, it was of great help in 2 of our cases where papillary carcinoma occurred in Graves' disease which only rarely presents this sign. |
