Right lobe, transverse scan. Red arrows point to a shadow which starts ventral to the thyroid. This makes the borders of the nodule blurred. However, this is caused not by pathology but by the improper fitting of the transducer to the neck of the patient. Note that the shadow marked with red arrows starts at the most ventral part of the image. At the green arrows, the capsule of the thyroid has broken. This is not a decisive but an attention sign of a potential extrathyroidal spread.
