The borders of the nodule - case 2152 (ultrasonographic picture 1b)

Right lobe, transverse scan. Two forms of misleading patterns are demonstrated. First, the left ventrolateral border of the nodule is spiculated (red arrow). But this is caused simply by the underlying anatomical situation, the narrowing end of the thyroid and therefore, this spiculation should not be judged as irregular margin. The two protrusions on the medial border are in fact caused by the impression of an echonormal nodule marked with yellow arrows.
