Left lobe, transverse view. There is a mixed lesion which presents hyperechogenic figures corresponding to fibrosis. The judgement of the solid part depends on the reference tissue: if it is the extralesional parenchyma, then the lesion is echonormal. If the reference tissue is the healthy thyroid, then the lesion is minimally hypoechoic.
