Right lobe, longitudinal scan. There is a small lesion just on the ventral surface of the nodule which causes a protrusion. This is not a pathological spiculation. There is a tiny normal thyroid parenchyma between the dorsal contour of the nodule and the dorsal part of the lobe. Therefore, in this section the contour is not abutting.
