The capsule of the lobe has been continuous in those parts of the lobe where the nodule is not adjacent to the surface of the thyroid (red arrows), while it has been broken where the nodule is in contact with the surface (between red arrowheads). Note that the echogenicity of the strap muscle is identical to that of the lesion (yellow arrows).
