Extrathyroidal spread - case conp 021 (ultrasonographic picture 4)

Upper part of the left lobe, transverse scan. There is a moderately hypoechogenic nodule. The acoustic shadow proves that the lesion contains macrocalcification. The abutment of the tumor is around 25%, the capsule is discontinuous and the tumor presents bulging. (This nodule proved to be malignant.)
