Right lobe, longitudinal scan

Left lobe, transverse scan. The nodule is more echogenic than the extranodular part while less echogenic than a healthy thyroid, therefore it can be grouped either hyperechogenic or moderately hypoechoic, the reference tissue is either the extranodular part of the lobe or a normal, healthy thyroid, respectively.
