Upper part of the left lobe, longitudinal view. There is a small, minimally hypoechogenic area without any clinical or oncological significance. Although this could be a small hyperplastic nodule, in my opinion the use of the term "nodule" instead of discrete lesion or echo abnormality shares absolutely no advantage but can cause unnecessary fear to the patient. Moreover, from a professional point-of-view it might be a failure because this lesion is not an unequivocal nodule in a pathological sense.
