Right lobe, longitudinal scan

Left lobe, longitudinal scan. This is a deceptive pattern: a central hypoechogenic area is surrounded with less hypoechogenic parenchyma, mimicking a large nodule. On the other hand, the borders and the shape of the lesion are characteristic of a focus of thyroiditis. It is worth analysing the bright echogenic intralesional figures: both echogenic lines and granules are present, therefore, these correspond to connective tissue.
