Right lobe, transverse scan. There is a moderately hypoechogenic, inhomogeneous nodule in the ventral-central part of the lobe. The nodule reaches the ventral surface of the lobe in more than 50% of its ventral perimeter. The integrity of the capsule is not clear at all part. Note that this benign lesion protrudes into the strap muscle. (The focus of papillary carcinoma is in the isthmic part of the lobe.)
