Clinical data

Clinical presentation: Regarding patient' history, see previous study. At the last visit, FNA was performed on the request of the patient, and cytology resulted in papillary cancer. Although, the endocrinologist of the patient suggested follow-up, the patient decided to have the tumor removed. Surgery was performed 16 months before the previous visit. Histopathology disclosed a 4 mm large recurrent papillary cancer in the left thyroid bed. The patient was referred for follow-up ultrasound examination.

Palpation: no abnormality.

Functional state: TSH 2.27 mIU/L, thyroglobulin 0.58 ng/mL, anti-hTg < 1.3 IU/mL on daily 125 microgram levothyroxine.
