Subacute granulomatous thyroiditis - case 1790 (ultrasonographic picture 2)

Right lobe, longitudinal scan, color Doppler mode. The dorsal part of the right lobe is composed of hypoechogenic areas with blurred borders. In contrast with papillary cancer where the borders are blurred only at the edges of the entire hypoechogenic lesion, in this case the smaller parts within the entire lesion display ill-defined borders.
