Left lobe, transverse scan. There is an anechoic lesion in the central part of the regenerative tissue which has replaced the thyroid. Note that there is no acoustic enhancement dorsal to the anechoic area. Moreover, in contrast to a cystic lesion, the borders between the anechoic and non-anechoic parts are blurred and not sharp. So, it is not sure that this area would be a cystic one.
