Thyroid cancers - case 199 (ultrasonographic picture 1)

Left lobe, transverse view. A large hypoechogenic nodule occupies almost the entire left lobe. There are irregular, echonormal patches within the nodule. These correspond to necrosis. The thin echonormal rim outside the nodule corresponds to intact thyroid parenchyma.
