Clinical presentation: A 49-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of diffuse complaints suggesting thyroid dysfunction, including weight gain, disturbed sleeping, palpitation.

Palpation. No abnormality.

Laboratory tests: TSH 4.01 mIU/L, aTPO 261 U/mL.

Ultrasonography. The thyroid was moderately hypoechogenic. No lesions of pathological sense could be observed.
