Hyperechogenic lesions in lymphocytic thyroiditis. Nodule or not nodule? Table 11 - Case 41
Right lobe, longitudinal view
Right lobe, longitudinal view, power Doppler mode

The images of the right lobe represent the typical sonographic appearence of a Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The left lobe was enlarged and nodular on palpation. US disclosed a lesion with multiple echonormal discrete areas. FNAC was consistent with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The enlarged left lobe caused neck complaints for the patient, therefore she underwent surgery.

Histopathology revealed Hashimoto's thyroiditis without any nodule.
