Natural course of Graves' disease - Table 3
First examination (TSH 0 U/mL, FT4 50.1 pM/L)
6 weeks later (TSH 0 mIU/L, FT4 18.5 pM/L)
7 months later (TSH 17.2 mIU/L, FT4 7.08 pM/L)
The typical course of Graves' disease is presented. The degree of hypoechogenicity, the vascularization and the fibrosis decrease over time. As a rule, the thyroid is enlarged at the time of the severe hyperthyroidism, while later in the course the thyroid volume correlates with the TSH level.
