Cytologic properties - acute, hyperthyroid phase of Graves' disease (I)

The main cytological properties of Graves' disease in the acut phase are as follows: anisonucleosis and vascuolization. Follicular cells occur in loose monolayered sheets. Variation in shape, i.e. pleomorphism does not belong to cytological signs of hyperthyroidism. The nuclei are blunt, therefore the chromatine structure is hard to judge.
