The left lobe was subtotally resected in this patient. The echostuture of the operated throid became hypoechogenic after surgical procedure. This can be observed in more than 50% of cases. The cause of hypoechogenicity is not known. Among other possibilities, the changes in the vascularization may responsible for this.
