Upper part of the right lobe, longitudinal view. The upper cystic area correspond to a dilated macrofollicle. There are at least two not well demarcated inhomogeneous areas in the lower part of the section, right in the image. Such lesions are frequently found in autoimmune thyroid disease and they do not fit to nodule in pathological sense. Be aware of the synchronous presence of hyperechogenic lines and granules which are presentations of connective tissue.
