Clinical data: a 33-year-old woman was referred for follow-up examination. She underwent bilateral subtotal thyroidectomy because of multinodular goiter for 3 years. She had no complaints.
Palpation: no abnormality.
Results of blood tests: euthyroidism on daily 50 microgram levothyroxine (TSH 1.87 mIU/L).
Ultrasonography: the right thyroid was minimally hypoechogenic while the left was echonormal. There were several hypoechogenic areas in both lobes; none of them fit to a nodule.
