Thyroid lymphomas - Case 1: Primary MALT-type non Hodgkin lymphoma (cytologic picture 8)

Pap-smear, 400x.   Typical presentation of Hashimoto's thyroiditis: oxyphilic cell group surrounded with lymphoid elements. The only remarkable cytological sign of MALT-lymphoma was the presence of relatively large proportion of lymphoblasts. Nevertheless, this is absolutely not an infrequent finding in lymphocytic thyroiditis.
