Clinical presentation: A 42-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of a thyroid nodule which was discovered on investigation because of weight gain and fatigue.

Palpation: no abnormality.

Laboratory test: TSH 1.67 mIU/L.

Lesion in question:

the nodule in the lower dorsal part of the left lobe - below the echonormal lesion which has a halo sign.

Additional information on the lesion

Dimensions (width x depth x length): 9x8x9 mm.

Taller-than wide sign present: absent.

Intranodular vascularization: present.

Pathologic adenopathy: absent.
