Data
Clinical presentation. A 44-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of a nodule detected on ultrasound screening. We have already investigated the patient 15 years ago and a suspicious lesion has been found in the ventromedial part of the left lobe with a maximal diameter of 8 mm. That time the patient refused aspiration cytology. We suggested ultrasound follow up where she failed to show up. At the present examination she explained that she had no complaints and did not see a reason to be examined.
Palpation: a firm lesion in the ventromedial part of the left lobe.
Laboratory test: TSH 0.90 mIU/L, anti-TPO 215 U/mL.
