Clinical presentation: A 70-year-old man was referred for aspiration cytology of a nodular goiter discovered on carotid Doppler examination. Hormonal evaluation disclosed subclinical hyperthyroidism while scintigraphy showed a cold nodule in the central part of the right lobe.

Palpation: a not firm nodule in the right lobe.

Laboratory test: TSH 0.04 mIU/L, FT4 18,9 pM/L, FT3 5.56 pM/L.

Lesion in question:

the largest nodule in the right lobe.

Additional information on the lesion

Dimensions (width x depth x length): 41x23x48 mm.

Taller-than wide sign present: absent.

Intranodular vascularization: absent.

Pathologic adenopathy: absent.
