Clinical presentation: A 64-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of a nodular goiter she had noticed for the last 19 years. She experienced a slow, continuous growth over the decades and the lesion has already caused compression signs for several years. Scintigraphy was the only imaging which had been performed, 9 years ago, and several nodules with decreased uptake were detected in both enlarged lobes.

Palpation: The right lobe was significantly while the left hugely enlarged and nodular.

Laboratory test: TSH 2.71 mIU/L.

Lesion in question:

the nodule in the right lobe.

Additional information on the lesion

Dimensions (width x depth x length): 26x21x39 mm.

Taller-than wide sign present: absent.

Intranodular vascularization: present.

Pathologic adenopathy: absent.
