Clinical presentation. A thyroid nodule in a 41-year-old man has been observed for 3 years. Consultation was requested after gradual enlargement. Scintigraphy showed a nodule in the right lobe with decreased uptake, thereafter the patient was referred for aspiration cytology.

Palpation: a moderately firm nodule in the right lobe.

Laboratory test: TSH 3.92 mIU/L, aTPO 1 U/mL.

Lesion in question:

the nodule in the right lobe.

Additional information on the lesion

Dimensions (width x depth x length): 43x29x55 mm.

Taller-than wide sign present: absent.

Intranodular vascularization: absent.

Pathologic adenopathy: absent.
