Clinical presentation. A 38-year-old woman was referred for aspiration. She has been treated with hypothyroidism for several years. Recently, she moved to another town and visited a new endocrinological department where a thyroid ultrasound examination was performed and resulted in TIRADS 5 category (a lesion in the left lobe). The patient was told that a left lobectomy is unavoidable.

Palpation. Both lobes were firm and uneven on palpation.

Laboratory test: TSH 0.92 mIU/L, anti-TPO 807 U/mL.

Lesion in question:

the lesion in the ventral part of the left lobe.

Additional information on the lesion

Dimensions (width x depth x length): 9x10x11 mm.

Taller-than wide sign present: present.

Intranodular vascularization: absent.

Pathologic adenopathy: absent.
