The echogenicity of the nodule - case 2152 (ultrasonographic picture 1b)

Previous picture Back to Case Next picture

Right lobe, longitudinal scan

Right lobe, transverse scan. Two forms of misleading patterns are demonstrated. First, the left ventral border of the nodule is spiculated (red arrow). But this is caused simply by the underlying anatomical situation, the narrowing end of the thyroid and should not be judged as irregular margin. The two lobules on the medial borders are in fact caused by the impression of an echonormal nodule marked with yellow arrows.
