Clinical data

Clinical presentation: A 61-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of nodular goiter. She underwent on bilateral subtotal thyroid resection for 27 years because of a multinodular goiter. She noticed a slowly increasing (over decades) mass in the right thyroid. She had already difficulties in swallowing.

Palpation: Both lobes were nodular on palpation.

Laboratory test: euthyroidism on daily 112.5 microgram levothyroxine (TSH 1.08 mIU/L).
