Clinical presentation: A 63-yr-old woman was referred for a second opinion by her endocrinologist. The patient had a thyroid ultrasound scan a year ago when a nodule was described in her left thyroid lobe. FNA was performed which resulted in oxyphilic variant of a follicular tumor. The endocrinologist had some doubt about the diagnosis.
Palpation: no abnormality.
Laboratory tests: TSH 1.91 mIU/L, aTPO 30 U/mL.
The lesion in question was in the dorsal part of the lobe.
