The shape of the nodule - case 2251 (ultrasonographic picture 1)

Right lobe, transverse scan. The thyroid has several moderately hypoechoic areas and a larger, deeply hypoechoic nodule. In this section the depth of the lesions exceeds the width. However, judging the shape of the nodule requires to measure and compare the largest width and largest depth of a nodule. Video proves that the former exceeds the latter in this nodule, therefore the lesion does not fulfill the criteria of taller-than-wide sign.
