Discrete lesion or nodule in Hashimoto's thyroiditis - case 29 (1125) (ultrasonographic picture 2)

Previous picture Back to Case Next picture

Right lobe, longitudinal scan

Right lobe, longitudinal view. Beside two moderately hypoechogenic areas, there is a deeply hypoechogenic lesion in the dorsal part of the lobe. While the formers are unlikely being nodules in pathological sense, this possibility cannot be excluded in the latter lesion. On the other hand, considering the irregular borders and the not regularly geometrical shape, this area is probably not a true nodule.
