Section 2 The nodular goiter

Clinical data: A 53-year-old woman was referred for evaluation of a nodule discovered on ultrasound screening. She had no complaints.

Palpation: There was a moderately firm nodule in the left thyroid.

Laboratory data: euthyroidism with TSH 1.06 mIU/L.
