Echogenic figures - case 1091-2
Clinical data: A 54-year-old woman requested an evaluation. We performed FNA a year ago which resulted in not diagnostic, cystic lesion report. We suggested a repeat aspiration in 6-12 months. In the meantime, ultrasound was performed in another hospital and the radiologist told the patient that her nodule is highly suspicious because of the presence of microcalcifications. The lesion was categorized as a TIRADS 5 lesion.
Palpation: There was a moderately firm nodule in the left thyroid.
Laboratory data: TSH 0.85 mIU/L.
