Operated thyroid - case 940 -part 2
Clinical data: A 51-year-old woman was operated on relapsing hyperthyroidism a year ago. Histopathology disclosed diffuse goiter corresponding to Graves' disease. A solitary, two-millimeter papillary cancer was found in the right lobe. On routine follow-up, the surgeon palpated a mass in the middle of the neck. The patient was referred for evaluation and cytology of the mass.
Palpation: a not firm mass in the middle of the neck above the level of the thyroid.
Laboratory data: TSH 3.01 mIU/L on daily 75 microgram levothyroxine.
