|
Clinical presentation: A 58-yr-old woman was referred for evaluation of a nodular goiter discovered on screening for 15 years. At the time of discovery, the largest diameter of the nodule was 10 mm.
Palpation: a not firm nodule in the right lobe.
Laboratory test: TSH 1.56 mIU/L.
Ultrasonography. The thyroid was echonormal. There was an echonormal nodule in the ventral part of the right lobe. The nodule showed halo sign but did not perinodular blodd flow.
Cytology resulted in benign colloid goiter.
Comment. It is wroth noting that the nodule decreased the echogencity of that part of the non-nodular part which was located dorsal to the lesion.
