Thyroid cancers - case 1631 (cytologic picture 4 - of another smear)

Wright-Giemsa staining, 400x.   A solid nest and epithelial cells in an amorphous background. The presence of the latter would be unusual in the case of a primary thyroid lesion except for medullary cancer.
