The origin of the lesions in the right lobe may be questionable. These may presentations of a multinodular goiter. Nevertheless, the borders are not regular geometrical, there are intralesional fibrotic changes. These properties argue againts being these lesions nodules in a pathological sense. If have any doubt than the analysis of the left thyroid decides the issue. Great part of this lobe is hypoechogenic. The small echonormal discrete areas correspond to intact parts of the lobe. The lesions presented in this case are very likely not nodules in a pathological sense. Cytology disclosed Hashimoto's thyroiditis. |
