Differential diagnostic of Hashimoto's thyroiditis: atypia

This patient had ingested daily 15 mg (!) iodine in order to loose weight.
Atypical even pleomorphic cell are presented. Follicular cells have ground glass apearance, but this property has only limited significance in cytologic preparations. Note a mitotic figure marked with green arrow in the left lower image. Such degree of atypia would be highly suspicious for a not well differentiated carcinoma, while in the event of Hashimoto's thyroiditis it has limited relevance.
