The ultrasound presentations of these cases are very similar. Great part of the lobes is composed of hypoechogenic areas which are not well demarcated. Although the borders of these hypoechogenic areas are somewhat more blurred in subacute thyroiditis than in Hashimoto's thyroidtitis, the difference is not enough to a clear ultrasound differentiation. |
