We announce two courses and a 2-day in-person training. In addition, it is possible to participate in only one or more live webinars.

The Basic Course - running from September 15, 2022 to November 30, 2022

Goals of the Course

  • Being able to identify the thyroid on ultrasound.
  • Becoming familiar with the different elements of a thyroid ultrasound pattern.
  • Becoming able to recognize the typical presentations of the single characteristics

Who is the basic course for?

  • For BEGINNES who want to perform ultrasound themselves but have minimal if any experience
  • For ULTRASOUND REPORT UTILIZERS clinicians who do not want to perform ultrasound themselves but use thyroid ultrasound in their everyday practice

Elements of the course

Materials on the web

The characteristics of the nodular goiter are discussed in 9 chapters. Each chapter is consisted of

  • a short, pre-recorded introductory lecture,
  • a voice-narrated video lecture consisting of 10-20 cases of ultrasound video,
  • and 10-25 related case studies, also including voice-narration ultrasound recordings.

These materials will be available on the web and watching and studying them requires independent work from the participants. It takes around 40 hours investment from the participant.

Interactive quiz

Six chapters have this item. Two or three ultrasound videos are presented, and the participants should answer the related questionnaire.

Live webinars

Type 2 Webinar - live presentation

On September 22, two live 30-minute lectures will be presented, each followed by a 15-min discussion. These cover the Physics of ultrasound and the Epidemiology of thyroid diseases

Type 1 Webinar - common discussion of ultrasound videos

Five such 90-minute live events will take place when we discuss with the participants ultrasound videos of 6 to 10 cases. The videos to be discussed will be presented in advance on the website.

Conditions for completing the basic course

  • To submit the answers in 4 of the 6 quizzes.
  • To complete the exam by November 15, 2022. The exam can be reached on the website from October 15, 2022.

The Advanced Course - running from December 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023

Essence of the Course

  • Presenting a full curriculum on thyroid ultrasound and related topics including the parathyroid, the neck lymph nodes and discussion of differential diagnostic issues in details
  • Requires a significant investment from the participants, ranges from weekly 6 to 10 hours depending on the level of their pre-course knowledge

Who is the advanced course for?

  • For WISH-TO-LEARN colleagues who want to perform ultrasound themselves but have minimal if any experience. It is strongly recommended them to participate in the Basic Course, too.
  • For EXPERIENCED ultrasonographer
